Meet the Team:
Gerry Hyde
Head Golf Professional
Gerry Hyde began his golf journey at just nine years old, developing his game through the junior ranks at Cumberland Golf Club, where he was a member from 1993 to 2000. His early dedication to the sport laid a strong foundation for a competitive career, including representing Cumberland in Major Pennants from 2002 to 2004.
In 2006, Gerry took the next step in his Professional development by becoming a trainee member of the PGA, and by 2010 he had earned full membership with the Australian PGA. His commitment to both playing and coaching has been a defining feature of his career.
Gerry joined Carnarvon Golf Club as an Assistant Professional in 2012, where he spent over a decade honing his skills, mentoring players, and contributing to the club’s golfing community. In July 2025, he was appointed Head Professional at Carnarvon, marking a significant milestone and recognition of his experience, leadership, and dedication to the game.
Luke McSweeny
Associate Professional
Luke McSweeny is a PGA Associate professional at Carnarvon Golf Club, with a strong passion for growing the game of golf.
He began playing at the age of 11 at Massey Park and has been a dedicated member of Carnarvon since 2019.
With four years of experience in the golf industry, Luke commenced his PGA Member pathway program in 2025 and is committed to developing his skills as a professional.
He has a particular interest in junior development and values building meaningful connections through member interactions, helping foster a welcoming and inclusive golf community..jpg)
