Carnarvon Golf Course Update to Members and Local Residents
Published Wednesday, 12th March 2025
An Update from the General Manager, Adam McGregor
Dear Members
and local residents,
I’m writing
to update you on our ongoing efforts to secure the future of Carnarvon Golf
Club. Our lease remains in place until
2035, and with your support, we are fully committed to maintaining and
protecting this vital community space for generations to come.
Since my last letter, we’ve
made significant progress with the support of our Board and key stakeholders:
- Met with our local MP,
Lynda Voltz, who remains highly supportive of
our cause.
- Gained the backing of
Cumberland Council, which
unanimously supported a motion to opposing the proposal to repurpose Carnarvon
as non-recreational space at their most recent meeting.
- Received extensive media
coverage across print, radio and TV, to
highlight the importance of protecting Carnarvon Golf Course.
- Hosted a successful
Open Day attended by Lynda Voltz, federal MP
Jason Clare, MLC Anthony D’Adam, local councillors Enver Yasar and Glenn Elmore
as well as many of the local community, raising awareness and engaging with the
community.
- Discussion in Parliament
Budget Estimates between Shadow Minister
Scott Farlow and Minister Kamper.
- Reached out to Minister
Kamper and scheduled to meet with him in a
few weeks’ time.
Our most urgent
goal is to reach 20,000 signatures on our e-petition to fight the proposed
redevelopment of Carnarvon Golf Course. If you haven’t signed yet, please do so now
and share it with at least 10 family members, friends, or colleagues. Every signature counts - together, we can
exceed our target! Sign here:

This isn’t just about golf - it’s about preserving a green space that benefits our entire community by providing a vital recreational area, supporting local biodiversity, improving air quality and promoting physical and mental wellbeing all while protecting local property values. We will continue to update you as developments arise, though current reliable information is limited. If you have questions or want to contribute further, please reach out.
Thank
you for standing with us. Together, we will secure the future of
Carnarvon Golf Club - let’s keep the momentum going!
Yours faithfully,
Adam McGregor,
General Manager
Carnarvon Golf Club
